Hi, I’m Ernie Mejia, and my wife Samantha (Sam) and I own Atlas Electric and Automation. We serve homeowners and businesses across Maricopa and the Phoenix Metro area. If you’re reaching out for electrical help, I want you to feel comfortable from the first call through the final walk-through.

I didn’t start out planning to own a business. For years, I worked as a traveling superintendent, which meant I was on the road a lot. One day I was home and my mom needed some electrical work done. I took a look, figured out what was going wrong, and realized how much I enjoyed the troubleshooting part—finding the real cause and fixing it the right way. That moment stuck with me. I decided to transition into electrical work so I could get off the road, simplify life, and be more present at home.

I’ve been in the electrical industry for 15 years, and I’ve learned that great service is not just about the repair—it’s about how you’re treated along the way. Our approach is simple: honesty, clear communication, and options that fit your situation. I’ll tell you what I believe you actually need, explain why, and lay out choices. When there’s a cost-efficient option that still meets code and keeps your home safe, I’ll talk you through it. When a bigger fix is the safer choice, I’ll be direct about that too. Either way, you’ll know what’s happening and what it will take to solve it.

My favorite part of this work is troubleshooting. I like the challenge of tracking down a problem that’s been frustrating you—flickering lights, a breaker that keeps tripping, outlets that stop working, or something that just doesn’t feel right. The best feeling is finishing a job and knowing the customer is truly satisfied with the outcome.

Outside of work, our life is centered around family. Our daughters keep us busy with dance classes, and we love cheering them on. When I have free time, I like fishing at Lake Pleasant. It’s a good reset and a reminder of why I wanted a more grounded routine in the first place.
